It was after ten years in theatre, getting 1st hand experience, and tips (bad habits) from well meaning, wonderful veterans of the stage, that I began to ask myself, ‘how can I learn to be a better actor, a great actor?' What do the stars know that makes them so dynamic, natural, and charismatic? In pursuit of this knowledge I moved to California. I attended acting classes
throughout the Bay Area, which I found to be largely a waste of time and money. I also studied method training for five years and learned a good deal; to laugh, scream, cry, and feel angry, but not a process by which I could apply it. As a member of Screen Actors Guild I supplemented my income to keep learning. During the filming of Mrs. Doubtfire, ( as a stand-in for Robin Williams).
I asked Mr. Williams, "How do you work? What is your method or process?" He said "I just have fun." Gary Oldman told me the same thing, As an actor, I have, and continue getting experience, am confident in my understanding of the craft and feel I can impart to an actor, a process for how to work authentically, dynamically and with charisma.
