“Filming for Bay Area’s Bolloywood gem “Kyu Tension” complete!

Filming for Gajendra’s much-anticipated Bollywood directorial debut “Kyu Tension” has been completed on 20th February 2009. The film’s title, which translates to ‘Why worry?’ serves as a fitting response to the gloom and anxiety brought about by the present global financial meltdown. 

Kyu Tension is slated as a story of hope, romance, laughter, and finally, of destiny and our special place in the world. The San Francisco Bay Area provides the perfect locale for the riveting storyline of what is undoubtedly a delightful portrayal of vibrant and touching humanism. Kyu Tension comes across alternatively as a rollicking comedy, a touching drama, and a compelling romance. Categorization apart, the film poignantly captures the frailty of the human spirit and its strength to endure and flourish under adversity.

The film’s cast hails almost entirely from the Bay Area and this contributes to the authentic San Francisco flavour evoked by this original Bollywood film. Experienced Hollywood cinematographer Dario Sanmiguel’s brilliant work with the film format includes breathtaking footage of San Francisco’s most distinctive and beloved landmarks. Kyu Tension’s lead acting pair – Gajendra and Aishanyan, and in other main roles Biral Patel and Rajive Neema have come up with bedazzling performances that wonderfully complement the gripping storyline and the rich cinematography. All of these factors guarantee that Kyu Tension will provide viewers with quality entertainment and a message that is particularly appropriate for the stressful times that we live in. The history behind the making of Kyu Tension is noteworthy in itself. While the film has been under production for just about a year now, it traces its genesis to almost ten years ago when director Gajendra,  a long time San Francisco resident, first resolved to make his own film. Gajendra decided to immerse himself in the art and technique of filmmaking – and has since developed valuable expertise and a wide network of contacts with the film industry in India and the US. Kyu Tension is the fruition of this labour and training, and has developed in a truly collaborative manner - with Bay Area well-wishers contributing their time, finances, ideas, and passion to the making of the film.
